I know I missed last week so let’s get caught up.

  • Last days occurred for both schools (definitely the biggest item on the list)
  • I got my haircut
  • We had the last soccer & baseball games of the season
  • We attended two post sports season get togethers
  • I attended one end of school year party
  • We attended two birthday parties
  • I did some weeding and got a few new plants into the garden

Last Week’s Accomplishments – June

Soccer & baseball season are done!  I guess it would have been nice if baseball had continued for my oldest a bit because it would have meat that they were still in the playoffs, but the crazy Saturdays are over.

In other news –

  • We attended two birthday parties.
  • I donated my bag of recyclable fabric before the school competition deadline.  Hopefully our school will do well.
  • I got back to some organizing/cleaning out.  My attention can more fully turn back to this now, but it was nice to get some stuff gone last week.
  • We got a fair amount of yard waste cleared out also.  Next yard waste pickup is in two weeks so hopefully we’ll finish the spring cleanup by then.

Last Week’s Accomplishments – A Little Rain

This past month has been bad.  I’d like to say I was productive last week, but I really wasn’t.

We made it through our standard array of 4 baseball games, 2 soccer games, 1 baseball practice, and 2 soccer practices.  We got some desperately needed rain, which isn’t an accomplishment but is nice for the garden.  I added some misc fabric and two socks to my fabric recycling bin.  This will need to be turned in before the deadline next Monday.  I took one child for their annual physical.

Otherwise, I’m getting through the days and attempting to get ahead a bit on shopping for the summer.

This category got skipped last week with Memorial Day.  But, as its been super busy with sports and other end of school year activities – plus finally some beautiful weather – the list still isn’t super long.

  • Got the boys to 4 baseball games, 2 baseball games, and 2 soccer practices (light weeks with Memorial Day)
  • Got the oldest to soccer evaluations for fall travel soccer
  • Took the youngest two to see the trucks at DPW Day
  • Shopped for two birthday parties; attended one
  • Added 5 pairs of pants and 9 socks to my fabric recycling bag
  • Hosted a big BBQ for the holiday weekend
  • Finished up the winter recreation activities
  • Got a pedicure (yeah me!)

Last Week’s Accomplishments – Gardening

Despite the unceasing sports schedule I got a lot done this week.

Things that got done:

  • Removed blinds and bifold doors in the mudroom.  We never used the blinds and the strings were just in the way.  The doors did’t function well; I’m planning to replace them with a curtain.
  • Finished raking the yard for the spring.  I have a few more beds to clean up; hopefully, that will be done this week.
  • Added a yellow pepper plant to my garden.  Added a tomato plant to the deck.
  • Sent in my “grab bag” donations for the spring carnival at school.
  • Had a dentist appointment.
  • Sorted out the 2T summer shirts to loan them to someone else.
  • Found a good haul of stuff at the town kids consignment sale.  It was one of the better selections of boys pants/shorts I’ve seen in a long time.

Last Week’s Accomplishments – Cleaning Out

The weather’s gotten quite nice – warm, but not too hot.  We could use some rain though, so I’ve been watering a lot.

  • Added 1 pants, 2 pajamas, and 5 socks to the textile recycling bag
  • With the twins, planted the spruce trees they got at school for Arbor Day
  • Listed another online yard sale item.  But, they haven’t been selling and I’m told this group is very small and undeveloped.  So, I’m going to try a different online yard sale and see how that goes.
  • Cleaned the garage and did the winter -> summer conversion
  • Assembled a hockey net for the driveway
  • Assembled a beach cart to help me take to soccer all the stuff I need with five people
  • Took the oldest’s bike to get a new chain
  • Added basil & tomatoes to our garden
  • Put away all of my winter shoes

Last Week’s Accomplishments – Baseball & Soccer are Underway

As I’ve mentioned a few times, baseball got underway this week (soccer has been going for a few weeks already).

  • Got the older three to 2 baseball games + 1 soccer game each
  • Got oldest to 2 soccer practices + 1 baseball practice
  • Went to the mall and found one shirt at Gymboree for $7.99 + two Gap Chinos @ $11.99 each
  • Finished washing and putting away all winter gear – it’s remained cold so the coats/hats/gloves were still out
  • Started raking and general spring yard clean up
  • Planted our garden; I may try more than one round of plants this year since the season is starting off so cold.

Last Week’s Accomplishments – Vacation Week

School vacation week meant everyone was home with me.

  • Made a cheesecake – I hadn’t done this before. While it came out as it was supposed to, I prefer dry cheesecakes and this is the moist, custardy type.  So, I’m going to be looking for a new recipe.
  • Took the boys bowling
  • Got to the last three more dentist appointments for this cycle
  • Fixed 7 books
  • Listed one item in an online yard sale – I’ve had yard sales before. But, this is my first foray into online yard sales so we’ll see how it goes.  I’m hoping well as I have other things to list.
  • Attended the memorial service – All of the boys did very well. Fittingly for this year, we were graced with snow flurries.
  • Received and deposited the towing reimbursement (earlier than I anticipated)
  • Finished porting this blog to WordPress
  • Upgraded to the latest version of Quicken – without which I would lose download access
  • Started the textile recycling bag with 3 pairs of pants, 8 socks, and 1 shirt. There’s a lot more to join that lot before I turn it in.  But, it needs to warm up so I can cycle out the pants and long sleeve shirts.

Last Week’s Accomplishments – Spring Cleanup

Most things now are revolving around the late spring start.  But the weather warmed up quite quickly and if it stays that way we should have a reasonable transition to summer.

  • Raked the side yard
  • Bought and planted a few things in the garden – lettuce (x2), sugar snap peas, chives, and basil
  • Got to three dentist appointments
  • Went to the last swim classes before summer
  • Went to the last preschool T-ball class until next fall

Last Week’s Accomplishments – Spring Sports Get Going

We’ve had a handful of nice days.  But, there’s still a little bit of snow.  One or two more nice days should be enough to finish it off.

  • Did the spring cleaning dusting of the main floor
  • Put 1 spring soccer schedule and 1 spring baseball schedule in my calendar – this should be it for a while!
  • Got everybody to their first soccer games and practices
  • Started raking the yard of winter detritus
  • Cleaned out the Master Bedroom closets; I should have a large amount for Goodwill now, though I still have to finish sorting it
